In order to qualify for the qualifier examination, a minimum score of 4 basic level courses in English, Maths for Data Science, Statistics for Data Science and Computational Thinking is required for a period of four weeks. Two or three hours of video lessons per week are provided on each subject. Each course has assignments.

These have to be completed online within the stipulated time. Only those who qualify will be allowed to write the qualifier test. General candidates should get 40% marks, OBCs 35%, SC, ST and Divyangs 30% marks in assignments. 

The qualifier test is conducted for a period of 4 hours. Each course lasts for an hour. Those who qualify will be admitted to the Foundation Level Course. The number of courses to be taken in the first two terms is determined based on the score obtained in the qualifier exam. 

Those who have achieved fifty percent (50% marks) will have the opportunity to join 2 courses, those who have achieved up to 70 will have the opportunity to join 3, and those who have achieved above 70 will have the opportunity to join 4 courses. 

The number of courses completed in the next two terms is determined by the score achieved in the first two terms.
