Many may feel that they did not get a seat in IIT, NIIT or any other college of their choice. Need to get out of this.
The world has become a small village in the present era of science and technology in the changed circumstances. All the sciences available in reputed educational institutions are available free of cost on the internet.
Where you are is irrelevant if you have desire, perseverance, discipline, commitment, honesty. Search your goal by finding right path to get success in way. It may seem that our college lacks the resources and good faculty as available in premier educational institutions and there are no campus placements.
The Guru should be transformed into an idol and inspired by the story of a soloist who practiced archery and gained unparalleled proficiency. Leading companies like Google, Microsoft, Infosys, TCS are offering equal opportunities to all.
Those who join IIT have normal job and livelihood. There are people who have studied in a normal college and have reached the highest level by employing ten. What is needed now is not just a degree but also the skills, leadership qualities and problem solving personality that the industry needs.
Didn't get a seat in the desired branch?
However, there is no need to dwell on despair. Remember Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. His first priority is to become a pilot.
But, in the end he reached such a high position! Take advantage of the opportunities that come your way and fight for what you want to achieve in the end. Wanted computer science.. but got seat in mechanic. no damage.
Let us tell you that the CEO of Google is Sundar Irrigation Metallurgical Engineer. Courage doesn't come from anywhere. The student of each branch can choose his/her subject as a major and any other subject of his/her choice as a minor through the option. You can also get the highest position through options.
According to the target..
If you want to become a government employee, you need to know in advance what you want to learn. Must practice. Appointments like Engineering Services Exam, GENCO, UPSC etc include questions from technical subjects as well as general studies.
Learn the technical stuff anyway: General Studies includes questions from History, Geography, Economics, Civics, Science and Technology and Current Affairs. All you have to do is set aside an hour a week and read the daily newspaper.
Some engineering students in normal college want to study in IIT anyway. They can get good marks in GATE exam and do PG in IIT. You can get good job opportunities.
World's biggest CEO has done MBA in top business schools after engineering. Those who have a similar idea can do MBA in reputed educational institutes like IIMs through CAT exam.
Attractive Jobs in MNCs: To get opportunities in many companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe requires intensive practice of few subjects apart from the syllabus prescribed by universities and colleges. Should be proficient in C, C++, Java, Data Structures and Algorithms from Basic to Advanced (Basic to Advanced).
Planning should be done from the first year. Use platforms like Code Chef, Code Forces, Leet Code, Hacker Rank. Don't miss at least one program per day. Must participate in international competitions like GSOC, ACMICPC.
In the matter of women empowerment some companies are offering high level software jobs for girls. These should be recognized by girls and practiced appropriately.
Education Abroad: Some want to pursue higher education in countries like USA and England. They have to write tests like GRE, ITLTS, TOEFL.
Self-Employed, as an Entrepreneur: During the four years of engineering, the student should learn various skills related to internships, projects, leadership in organizations that suit his ideas.
Personal interests: Some students have interest and curiosity in various arts. With some training you can excel in them.
Don't make mistakes
Low marks (poor grade)
Recently some students got job in two or three reputed companies with good salary. But due to backlog, he/she had to give up the work he/she had come for. How painful! Therefore care should be taken from the front without backlog.
Some companies do not offer placements to people with backlogs. For Indian Employment Generation Institutions (including Public Sector Undertakings) it is necessary to have at least 60% marks.
Some software companies require 70-80 percentile marks (7-8 CGPA). No matter how much skill you have, these companies will not give you a placement opportunity.
Keep this in mind. (This may not be necessary for those who start their own company after graduation. But there is a lot of value in the community depending on the student's grades). Must have some understanding of grades from the first year of engineering.
It doesn't mean '100% marks are required, bookworms are required'. Companies should have minimum qualification with required skills.
Lack of future goals
There is a worthy Quote proverb that says, a student after engineering wants to become a good government employee. Another student may wish to pursue M.Tech/MBA in Indian higher education institutions. One wants to get job in other major multinational companies with good package.
Anyone else wanting to do MS in a top university abroad. Another student may dream of setting up an organization that can stand on its own two feet and provide shade for ten. Or he can master any art and imagine his life in it. It is unnecessary to read when one of these is not the student goal!
Bad Consistency
At first you didn't know who he was. But over time it is likely to change. People who think they are friends should stay away from such people as much as possible if your thoughts and intentions seem contrary to theirs.
Hormones released at the age of 17-18 years should be taken care of so that negative thoughts and habits do not come in your mind to disturb you. Students should stay away from those habits which defame themselves, parents and the country. There is so much to learn from each fellow student.
